Faith, Sorcery, and Dex are fun to play. I’m personally one for speed. But these builds are great if you know how to use them. But then again one of my characters for my own personal lore is a quality build. My favorite weapon is probably the paired greatsword or great club, obviously both are for pure strength.

Quality build and STR build are both viable. and in PvE content you could care-less bout the meta and still triumph. But in the end of the day it also depends on how good you are in the game. Huge damage output without knowing when to attack the opponent is just bad. 3.

Faith is so slept on. I had an sl100 melee build with like 40 faith. Sunlight Straight Sword and a Lightning War Banner for weapons, along with Great Heal, Sacred Oath, and Atonement for Co-op. Strength focused is just as viable as quality, you just have a much, much smaller weapon pool to choose from. Either get strength to 66 and dex to 15 for a strength build, or each to 40/40 for a quality build. Quality is basically a hybrid STR/DEX build, where you split your stats between both.To make a hybrid build work, its recommended to be high SL, so you can use the physical infusion AND a buff (either int or faith based). In this case its good have f.e. 60 dex and enough int/faith for the buffs to use, and some attunement. So if you go straight from the start, you should concentrate one the physical aspect and survivability first.
