I recently purchased 2018 Pacifica Hybrid Limited, and experimented with playing movies via USB. For most of the movies the sound is lost. If the movie is 1080p, you can clearly see that the hardware simply does not have enough power to play it. If I put the DVD in the front console (radio/media center) there is no VES option. I can hear the DVD but it does not play on the rear screen. Also, when I put the DVD into the DVD Player (in the back on the ceiling) I can see the video but it has no sound. I do not have a remote control or headphones..
